Sylvain Leblanc a native of Grand-Mere,
QC, left his hometown as a teenager to pursue training in theatre and the arts. In 1997 he became a graphic designer and worked for a variety of Montreal design firms. His paintings allow him to create without constraints. He uses transparency and spontaneous gestures and a superposition of pure colours. He prefers oil and employs a variety of techniques on canvas. In 2001, Sylvain Leblanc moved from Montreal to an ancestral homestead in Stanstead, QC due to the inspiration the location brings him. |
